Ramen noodle bowls,
different materials for different people

While observing all the artists in the room, I found that each
one had unique qualities, so I designed an interactive, wearable
ramen noodle bowl for every individual. For example, Terry (one of my art
classmate) was always quiet in the classroom, so I decided to create a device
that could "speak" and engage him in our conversations, even without
words. I used ramen forks as drumsticks and the two sides of the bowl as drum
surfaces to craft a wearable drum for this quiet artist. Another example was
Jenny (another art classmate of mine), whose shoulders made me want to lean
in and feel safe. Her ramen noodle bowl was cut in half so it could be
worn on her shoulders to resemble a pair of pauldrons that reflected
her powerful inner core. The surprise and delight of opening each
bowl of ramen bonded us together, inspiring us to discover the spark
in every artist.
