SHAPE OF A HEART
2025
110 x 110 x 180 cm
Acrylics on paper, Clay
The size of this art piece is 180 cm, representing the highest heart
rate I have reached since puberty. The shape of the artwork represents
a transformation. In my childhood, my heart is free and without limitations.
The word "lighthearted" is illustrated in this part of the artwork: bright
colors and a free shape resemble the first stage of my heart. Then,
limitations begin to play a role as I grow up. Numerous constraints and
expectations hinder not only my actions but also my will—telling me that
I should not let my wild thoughts run free, but instead seek only the
correct answers to the black-and-white questions. The shape of my heart
then gradually becomes thinner, as if it were being clenched whenever
I face limitations. However, reaching the tip of this sculpture, I begin to
ponder the essence of breakthrough, adding blue hues that symbolize hope
for the future and striving to trust my heart once again.
