PINK MOMENTUM
2025
400 x 100 x 250 cm
Acrylic on Canvas
While making art, I experience two feelings: the sense of completion
that drives me to finish and the gentle inertia that keeps my brush
waving. Another significant element was ready to find its place here
—playfulness. I began to contemplate the enjoyment of art, seeking to
gain the blissfulness in the process. That was when I remembered the
simple joy that media parks had brought me. Whenever I see roller
coaster tracks, passion and excitement flood my heart, triggering
joyful memories. I realized that art is not only about the messages
one would grit their teeth to pursue, but also about the spirit in which
passion settles into simple contentment. I used acrylics to paint the
entire canvas, front and back, in pinkish tones, representing both my
obsession with the color and the vibrant hues flowing from my heart.
However, those traditional materials form not a flat painting, but a
multidimensional sculpture that is carved into a roller coaster.
Viewers can experience it from all perspectives. For example, standing
beneath it reveals a scaffold-like structure covered in pink, much like
the underside of a roller coaster. Here, canvases are not the medium
to paint an image, but integral components of a sculpture that completes
the view.
